About
the artist:
Jomike is a creative soul of the company,
Tejido Architecture and Art. He has made over 20 children’s
books in the Philippines and Singapore. He has received
local and international awards and was part of the 2004 IBBY
Honor List for illustration and a runner-up of the 2006 Noma
Councours. He also created Mikrokosmos, a comic strip for
The Philippine Daily Inquirer. His abstract acrylic
paintings on straw mat are currently on exhibit in Paris and
Manila. Jomike enjoys insects, 1980's memorabilia, soccer
and swimming. He is currently based in Manila and is working
on his series of animal myths.
