ALICDAN, WILFREDO
Born in Dasmariρas, Cavite, Philippines
Fine Arts-Major in Painting, Philippine Women's University Institute
Wilfredo Alicdan's works were distinguished by their quaint and
geometric folk representations, populated by rounded, stylized figures engaged in traditional and rural genre activities. Alicdan's canvases display a sense of harmony between contrasting formal elements while his utilization of solid colors and flat backgrounds reinforces the two-dimensionality of his paintings, his use of subtle modeling imbues his figures with rounded, human plasticity. Willy is a founding member of the Anting-Anting Group of Artists. He helps and supports UNICEF by
lending his works to be reproduced as a Unicef Cards for the benefit of all the children of the world.

CASTRILLO, JOSE LUIS
was born on January 22, 1959 in the Barrio de la Macarena in Seville. By the young age of 6 he was driving his mother crazy drawing her picture on the patio wall of their house. By the age of 20 he was earning an income as a portrait painter. The portrait was his first contact with painting, and today is still the form of painting that gives him the most satisfaction and the most frustration.
At age 26, Castrillo attended the Santa Isabel de Hungria School of Fine Art in Seville where, over a two-year period, he acquired a great deal of experience with brushwork techniques and figure drawing. He was also enriched by his many contacts with the other students and master painters at the school. Castrillo’s friendship with the celebrated Sevillian painter Joaquνn Saenz played a significant role in his education as a painter, and increased his knowledge of the works of such Masters as Leonardo da Vinci, Rembrandt, Renoir, and Velasquez above all.
In 1989 Castrillo married Trinidad Fernandez, a fellow painter, with whom he has enjoyed many collective exhibitions. Castrillo has also had numerous solo art exhibitions showcasing his landscapes, which feature many places and landmarks from his beloved Seville. Currently, Castrillo teaches painting classes to a very small, elite group of about twenty students, and does research in the field of New Age painting - the form of expression he uses at present in his paintings.

Born November 16, 1972, Las Pinas City, Philippines
Fine Arts Graduate major in Painting, University of Santo Tomas

The Manila-based artist, is a Cultural Center of the Philippines 13
Artist awardee (2000). The multi-awarded painter expressess a passion
for content in his themes, leaning more towards social realities. He
views his works as more personal, using symbolism in the gestures and
overall context of his subjects. His style remains largely influenced
by an earlier attachment to the Magic Realists, although his themes
have reflected a preference to the introspective dealing more with
life's meaning and pondering on the essence of existence.

HERNANDEZ, Jose
Born in Manila on September 22. 1944 but grew up in the province of Pampanga. He spent his grade school years at the Assumption Academy of San Fernando. As early as in Grade IV", he already showed an inclination as 10 what be would be: his notebooks were filled with drawings at the expense of regular schoolwork. As expected, he had to repeat the grade. The following years were no different that it is surprising that he even managed to finish high school. He then abandoned schooling for education in the studios of established artists. Since the 1960s, Hernandez has steadily gained a strong following and although hr has yet to comp up with his own one-man show, his paintings are sellouts in group exhibitions.

JOYA, JOSE
Born in 1931, Jose Joya began dabbling in art at a young age. He entered the University of the Philippines College of Fine Arts where he was mentored by traditionalists such as Guillermo Tolentino, Ireneo Miranda, Dominador Castaneda and Virginia Agbayani. Exposed to innovators like Cezanne, he broke away from the mold and began working with Philippine modernists. His peers included Arturo Luz, Anita Magsaysay-Ho and Vicente Manansala. He was among the Ten Outstanding Young Men, was awarded the Chevalier dan l'Odre Des Arts et Letters by the French government, and selected as ASEAN Artist. He was also named as Outstanding Filipino and awarded the Gawad Para Sa Sining Biswal by the Cultural Center of the Philippines.

TAMONDONG, CHRISTIAN
Born March 27, 1976, Cavite City, Philippines
Major in Fine Arts, Philippine Women's University
Filipino painter Christian Tamondong was born in Cavite City, Philippines --- March 27, 1976. He took up painting at the Institute of Fine Arts and Design at the Philippine Women's University.
A first encounter with Tamondong's works evokes a sense of enchantment for his intense colors at once beckon us to a world of playgrounds, the world of our childhood.
Tamondong's unique style appropriates the colors and forms of children's art. His paintings are characterized by strong, vibrant colors applied in their purest intensity. Intimations of innocent spontaneity appear through freely applied streaks of crayons and oil sticks and through casually controlled acrylic drippings and washes.
Tamondong's child-like style serves a double entendre: while the forms appear naive, his themes are thoughtful meditations on the exhuberance of life.
Christian, one of the rising stars of Philippine art is a multi-awarded painter and his artworks are sought after in the Philippines, Singapore and the United States.
